Purpose and goal

The aim of the project has been to a) create an understanding and acceptance for the next generation of materials and to highlight the high standard of Swedish competence and knowledge in the field of advanced materials, b) create prerequisites for innovation and material-based competitiveness in Swedish industry, c) enhance the interest of SNTs work to different stakeholders.

Expected results and effects

Through workshops, the annual conference NanoForum, interviews and articles in media and discussions with ministries and government agencies, SNT has reached the set goals. On the national as well as regional and local level, several ongoing initiatives are striving to coordinate and enable regional material-based infrastructural resources, making spearhead technologies available for a competitive and sustainable future industry.

Planned approach and implementation

Several workshops and meetings have been arranged during 2016. This has resulted in the fact that advanced materials has raised on the political agenda as a means for enabling the new industrial generation. Specific in this sense is the annual conference NanoForum, the only existing nano meeting that attract participants from different areas like academia, industry, trade organizations, investors, as well as the public sector. Furthermore, specific investigations and foresight analyses have been made for customers in industry and the public sector.
