Important results from the project
The goal was to show that with a 3D-iExtruded Tab-cooled battery module concept were battery module and structure is integrated it is possible to enable: 1. 6 minute charging of low cost lightweight EV´s: 6C-charging with low cell temperatures enabling long battery lifetime. 2. 2-3x Longer batter life 3. 50% Lower cost during LCA and low weight. 4. Integrate and optimise structure and cooling in one piece - saving cost and materiale. 5 Fewer materials making recycling easier, with 80% less components, 50% less materials and less 6 Enable automatic assembly disassembly 7. Mass production
Expected long term effects
The fact that we showed that 3D-iextrusion enable the integration of tab-cooling in the structure enabling faster charging and longer battery life paired with lower cost and weight is expected to result in implementation in real life products. We have established dialogues with EV-producers and will market the result -both alone and with other project members. Discussions of running a project building physical battery modules and cycling them . The environmental Impact is expected to be be big: 2-3x longer battery life and the possibility of superfastcharging & downscaling.
