Project duration November 2021 - December 2022

Important results from the project

For university hospitals such as Karolinska to establish successful innovation collaborations we need to attract the best possible innovation partners on the international arena. Through the project we can now offer more forms for interactions between industry and clinical staff, which increases our possibilities to reach both leading global actors as well as innovative entrepreneurs.

Expected long term effects

A test towards the Israeli market showed a large interest, where 200 innovative companies wanted to present their potential as innovation partner to Karolinska University Hospital. Furthermore, contacts were established for future collaboration between clinical fields and several Israeli organizations. Continued activities are planned at different levels between Israel and Karolinska by Business Sweden. Learnings, ways of working and processes can thereby be reused.

Approach and implementation

Karolinska identified needs for innovation within the women’s health field. Thereafter Business Sweden found relevant companies which could match the requests together with Israeli organizations supporting business. At a joint event the companies met with the clinical experts to exchange knowledge, experience, and ideas. The arrangement has strengthened the Karolinska offer to industry and improved internal processes to find and meet innovative companies.
