Intelligent pricing

Purpose and goal

The project goal was to find how we can build an attractive service on top of our algorithm for identifying optimal prices of products in ecommerce stores. This included investigating potential user’s operational challenges with the aim of understanding which aspects of the service would be most interesting. The project also included building a prototype of the service for showing to potential customers and investors.

Expected results and effects

We have gained a much deeper understanding of our potential user’s challenges. Almost all of their focus is on top-selling products, which we will take into account when packaging our service. We have identified a few new features that would lead to a clear improvement of the value for our customers. We expect to implement these new features before launching the service. We now also have a prototype that can be displayed to customers and potential investors. Having a prototype to show significantly simplifies discussions and gathering feedback.

Planned approach and implementation

For the prototype we have evaluated different frameworks to build the system in and analyzed different platforms for handling the data stream from our customers. The choices have been easy, but developing the prototype has taken a bit more time than expected. We have conducted interviews with potential users and asked for feedback on the prototype. The users have been very enthusiastic and open during the interviews.
