Important results from the project

The project has laid the foundation for an innovative solution that can reduce methane emissions from cattle while contributing to increased resource efficiency in agriculture. During the project period, the manufacturing process has been developed on a lab scale and important preparations for future tests have been carried out. The project has also strengthened cooperation between parties from research, business and primary production, and created new opportunities for continued investments.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to reduced methane emissions from animal husbandry, which benefits both the climate and the sustainability of agriculture. By converting residual flows from the food industry into a resource-efficient product, the circular bioeconomy is strengthened. The project can also lead to new business models, increased competitiveness for farmers and create conditions for new innovations in sustainable agriculture.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out according to plan, with a focus on developing the manufacturing process on a lab scale and preparing for future tests. The work was organized into joint activities with a clear division of responsibilities and regular reconciliations. Most elements followed the schedule and no major obstacles arose. The cooperation between the parties worked well and the approach proved to be effective.
