Important results from the project

Over the course of two years, the project´s seven partners have scaled and spread Right To Play´s method for sustainable employment to foreign-born youth. The method has shown strong evidence for its potential to contribute to a systemic change in the Swedish labor market through the research study conducted by Uppsala University within the project. Hundreds of young people with a foreign background have improved their opportunities to enter the labor market, with over 50 employers and enablers in the private, public and civil sector who have invested in the method.

Expected long term effects

The project has achieved strong results in terms of scaling and spreading the method as well as building foundation for long-term societal benefit. In the scientific study, Uppsala University saw a statistically significant difference in employment and self-sufficiency opportunities (75.9% after the project compared to 10% before). Preliminary results of the qualitative research further show an increased sense of empowerment and participation in society, with efforts that also develop an important community and contribute to increased independence and improved well-being.

Approach and implementation

The project has been affected on several levels by the Covid-19 pandemic, which spread and affected large parts of society, including the labor market. Despite this, the project´s seven partners have worked solution-oriented towards the set objective. We bring with us important experiences for collaboration with the private and public sector, and positive results from research studies as well as dissemination of methodological materials supporting youth in employment legislation. We continue to see a great need and strong opportunities for long-term utilization of the method.
