Important results from the project

The project aimed to develop new methods to strengthen business developers’ support for startups using the public sector as a strategic market. A feasibility study showed major knowledge gaps. This led to the ACCESS-framework – a digital platform with a handbook, tools, an AI pilot, and a community - free availabe as a Innovation Commons for everybody to use. ACCESS can now be used and further developed across the startup incubator system and the public sector.

Expected long term effects

The project has laid the foundation for a national framework where startups and business developers can use the public sector as a strategic growth opportunity. ACCESS can strengthen both startups and business developers in B2G collaboration, while also boosting the public sector’s ability to leverage startup-driven innovation to accelerate societal transformation.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out in two phases – first a feasibility study to map challenges and needs, then the development of methods and tools. The project followed a learning-based process with short work cycles and regular check-ins. Workshops and dialogues with startups, business developers and public sector actors were central to testing and improving the content. This approach made it possible to quickly adapt and further develop ACCESS as new insights and needs were identified.
