Purpose and goal

The project addresses the development need for ecosystems to support the competitiveness of innovative companies by having the incubators have relevant competence regarding innovation procurement processes and what/how to drive the development of a scalable business for the companies within the framework of public procurement.

Expected effects and result

In the long term, the goal of work is to increase the Swedish incubator system´s ability to support companies to participate in innovation procurement, as well as to use it as leverage for scaling. In the short term, the preliminary study will result in insights into how the conditions look today to support the companies in using participation in innovation procurement to drive scalability in the business. The feasibility study will identify existing resources in the system, gaps, as well as validate the interest in sharing common knowledge assets in the area.

Planned approach and implementation

In summary, during the feasibility study we will examine: 1) What business development support exists today, overall in the innovation promotion system, which increases the conditions for companies to: a. participate in innovation procurements b. use participation in innovation procurement to drive scaling 2) How the above business development support can be financed based on the financial instruments that exist today (eg innovation procurement cheques).
