Important results from the project

The project’s purpose was to establish an international collaboration platform for exchange of research and experience-based knowledge related to implementation of innovation management systems in all types of companies and organizations, where Sweden could take an initiating and orchestrating role in the platform. The platform has been manifested in activities supporting empirical studies, knowledge exchange and mutual learning around innovation management and innovation management system, and building a critical mass through engaging relevant actors.

Expected long term effects

Results from the project cover: knowledge sharing seminars (Swedish, Nordic and global levels) resulting in shared experiences and raised knowledge, conducted case studies, communication activities resulting in raised awareness and basis for further collaborations, a submitted book manuscript including 16 case studies from around the world. Implications have been summarised for practitioners, academics, standardisation, professional associations and policymakers that points to the potentials in considering innovation management from a systems perspective.

Approach and implementation

Key activities were (1) Thematic knowledge exchange sessions (sharing experiences and good practices), (2) Empirical case studies of selected organizations (based on a common framework), (3) Publications (create awareness about implementation of innovation management systems), and (4) Implications (for practitioners, academics, professional associations, standard developers and policymakers). Major influences along the project were the opportunity to publish a book, but also doing a full digital project as a consequence of the pandemic.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
