Important results from the project

The project did not achieve its overall goals, although some milestones were completed. User studies, documentation of customer needs, and initial data processing were carried out, but the pandemic and subsequent changes within the partnership led to limited access to resources and data. This hindered the development of prototypes and testing. In summary, milestones were achieved, but the overall goals of the project could not be met.

Expected long term effects

Although the project did not achieve all goals, the results have the potential to positively impact the future. The insights into customer needs and processes can form the basis for future projects. The rise of GenAI could overcome some of the challenges the project faced. The collected data and user studies provide a foundation for innovation. The project established new connections between researchers/experts/companies in the construction industry, which could foster future collaborations.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out in close collaboration with an actor in the construction industry and included steering group meetings and check-ins to monitor progress. A process for effective decision-making and problem-solving was followed. Despite careful planning, the project was impacted by external factors such as the pandemic, which caused the schedule to be delayed and several activities to not be completed as planned. The collaboration dynamics were also affected by these factors.
