Important results from the project
Leading Swedish actors in wave energy CorPower, RISE, and Blue Future have joined forces to create a Horizon Europe project proposal to demonstrate CorPower´s wave energy converter. The focus has been to build a consortium of 9 partners from 5 different countries to design, write, and submit a 70-page proposal. As a result, a successful submission was done on January 5th 2022.
Expected long term effects
As a result of this project, all partners have set a collaborative work plan to demonstrate the 1) next generation CorPower wave energy device, 2) an industrial supply chain, and 3) the market competitiveness of the technology to key stakeholders. It has allowed to understand the main project goals and challenges, and how they can be addressed. A successful evaluation of the Horizon Europe proposal will result in enough funding to implement this work plan, ensuring the sustainable market roll-out of the CorPower device.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out in three overall phases: consortium building, project design and strategy, proposal writing. In consortium building phase, the work included meetings to identify suitable partners and their interest to join the project. In the project design phase, digital and face-to-face workshops focused on identifying a winning project scope, objectives, and work plan. In the proposal writing phase, all partners contributed in writing a high-quality Horizon Europe proposal as a final result, including its submission to the EU e-portal.
