Important results from the project

HINTS-US enabled the HINTS to internationalise its XR technologies for Human-centered Intelligent Realities (HINTS). HINTS is a KKS profil run by BTH’s Department of Computer Science (DIDA). The visit connected HINTS with large international and US-based companies. As a result, a follow up project with a US partner is in preparation. In addition, the HINTS team engaged with fellow Swedish XR teams during the vist, building new national relationships.

Expected long term effects

The expected long-term effects of HINTS-US are the internationalisation and refinement of HINTS technologies, i.e. the commercial use of HINTS techniques by US partners as well as the joint development of new HINTS technologies with US partners. An example is the use of novel display technologies for human-centered XR applications.

Approach and implementation

HINTS-US started with identifying appropriate HINTS technologies for internationalization with US partners. These technologies focus on the evaluation of XR systems being “human-centric”. Then, a core team was built which prepared communication material. This team travelled to the Silicon Valley, participated the in events organised by Vinnova, visited new potential partners in the US, and advertise and explained the HINTS technologies to them. The US partners gave feed and were highly engaged.
