Important results from the project

The goal of the project has not been achieved since it has not been possible to write an application to the UDI step 2-program.This is due to that one of the companies has temporarily left the project. However, the goal to identify and formulate the main condition monitoring projects enabling increased axle load of the ore wagons is met. In the future we hope it will be possible to conduct this research, although it is currently not possible to submit a joint application.

Expected long term effects

One result of the project was an investigation which resulted in a number of sub-projects. These are needed to improve the condition monitoring, thus enabling increasing axle load of ore wagons and railway. The sub-projects have been formulated in collaboration between the project partners Luleå University of Technology , SKF, LKAB and the Swedish Traffic Agency.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in the form of meetings led by project manager Pär Marklund, Luleå University of Technology, with two to three weeks interval. Between meetings, work has been carried out by each project partner with subsequent information meetings either via telephone or as physical full day meetings, where all project partners met for deeper and more thorough discussions. Project descriptions and meeting reports have been compiled and written after the meetings.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
