Important results from the project

Hemp and Hope gave a number of important results. Due to the experimentation with using hemp as a food ingredient the culinary team at Fotografiska have become enthusiastic champions of hemp as a climate resilient crop. This result is important as it contributes to raising demand for hemp. Furthermore, the exchange during each of the dining experiences has led to newly forged connections between different stakeholders which has contributed to building a stronger network around hemp in Sweden.

Expected long term effects

At Planethon, with our partners, we will be actively exploring concrete new initiatives with innovators, industry partners and others including our hemp supplier for this project Hemisphere Technologies as well as other emerging players within hemp in Sweden. Making cross-industry connections and finding concrete innovation projects to drive this forward will come next. We think that the project, could support the ongoing process of de-stigmatization and a new way of communicating around hemp.

Approach and implementation

Hemp and Hope has created a four part future prototype exploring the potential of hemp as a climate-resilient ‘Superfood’ of the future. 1) Experimentation with hemp as an ingredient & creating a ‘dining into the future’ experience 2) The interactive dining experiences themselves and the integration with the futures experience 3) The creation of the Augmented reality prototype of the future ‘Superfood label’ and 4) Creation of the ‘Beyond Magazine - Hemp and Hope special issue’ magazine
