Important results from the project
We have investigated which type of communication method is most effective for communicating health messages to seniors. We have tested 4 different communication methods and investigated seniors´ attitude to the methods, as well as what generates concrete actions. We have engaged around 40,000 seniors and the result was relatively clear. Based on the tests, we have identified success factors for communicating health messages to seniors, as well as made our results, lessons learned and recommendations available to all stakeholders through our various channels.
Expected long term effects
The results and insights from the prototype were clear and have been transformed into success factors and recommendations, which are available to all stakeholders via for example PUSH:s website. The interest in the prototype has been high and we therefore expect that the insights and recommendations will now be able to be incorporated into the work of various relevant actors, such as municipalities and authorities. The effect of this should be an increased efficiency in the communication of health messages, which in the long run should lead to a healthier population.
Approach and implementation
The project investigated seniors´ needs and wishes linked to the communication of health messages, as well as how different communication methods regarding seniors´ protein needs can generate concrete actions. The testing was carried out through both qualitative and quantitative methods, where 40,000 seniors were reached through a combination of A/B tests on Facebook, a survey, in-depth interviews, health fairs and lectures. The project was laid out in 6 work packages where emphasis has been placed on the two work packages Analysis and planning, as well as Prototype testing.
