Important results from the project
The overall goal and purpose of the project has been to identify effective measures and initiate activities for an accelerated circular transition. The goal has been met and the project has contributed to a developed understanding and proposals on how companies and politics can accelerate circular material flows, not least for the value chains textiles, plastics and construction materials, and through circular procurement. Within the project, the companies, together with scientists, created a baseline of knowledge and sharpened action plans for increased circularity.
Expected long term effects
The project has contributed to a developed understanding of circular economy through the development of fact-based data, activities and proposals on how companies and politics can accelerate circular material flows. The results have been shared through articles and seminars. The response has been positive and several of the suggestions within the project have been raised by other actors, such as companies outside the project, municipalities and politicians. In this way, the project has contributed to increased circularity both inside and outside the project.
Approach and implementation
Initially, the project had more focus on developing the knowledge base and starting points as a baseline for the project. Workshops and seminars have been conducted on textiles, plastics and building materials, procurement among others, and reports have been produced on textiles and companies´ own plans for action on circularity. The latter part of the project has focused on disseminating good examples and concrete measures of action that have been developed around how business and politics can contribute to accelerate circular product and material flows.
