Purpose and goal

The project enhances digital traceability for land-based transports to and from the Port of Gothenburg, focusing on sustainability and capacity utilization. By implementing technologies such as RFID and/or cameras at rail tracks and other strategic points, real-time monitoring and analysis of goods flows are enabled. This increases goods flow visibility in the transport chain, improving planning, reducing environmental impact, and optimizing resources for stakeholders in the transport sector.

Expected effects and result

The expected outcomes and effects of the FLINTA project include improved digital traceability and capacity utilization in the transport chain, leading to better planning and resource optimization. The project contributes to reduced carbon emissions by shifting freight from road to rail, easing road infrastructure, and enhancing Sweden´s competitiveness in international trade and logistics through a robust digital infrastructure and improved goods flow intelligence.

Planned approach and implementation

The planned setup for FLINTA includes deploying RFID and/or cameras at strategic points like railway tracks to enable real-time monitoring. Simultaneously, a digital platform for goods flow analysis and integration into the transport chain is developed. The project is conducted with industry stakeholders to ensure a relevant solution. Business models and scalability are studied to ensure long-term relevance and benefits for the business sector.
