Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to identify how the transport of green hydrogen can become more cost-efficient and commercially viable. The goal is to analyze cost drivers, operational and regulatory barriers and market conditions to develop strategies and recommendations that strengthen hydrogen´s competitiveness in the transport sector. The study is carried out by industry actors with broad expertise across the entire value chain.

Expected effects and result

The feasibility study provides concrete guidance for optimizing hydrogen transport and developing business models. It is expected to result in recommendations that support commercial decisions, identify collaboration opportunities and inform efficient transport strategies. The findings will be shared in industry forums and strengthen the competitiveness of hydrogen, contributing to a long-term sustainable infrastructure and the transition to fossil-free heavy transport.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is carried out in 3 work packages: mapping of transport costs, analysis of regulatory and operational barriers and market analysis and business strategies. The work is led by the coordinator and conducted in collaboration with industry actors within production, distribution and transport. The results will serve as a basis for business decisions and will be disseminated in dialogue with industry stakeholders to facilitate implementation and continued development of hydrogen logistics.
