Call Human-centered mobility - The mobility system of the future based on human behavior and perception

Important results from the project

The project has increased knowledge about challenges in today´s parking facilities and how the design affects safety and well-being in and around facilities for parking and mobility. The project has resulted in a knowledge guide on how facilities can be designed where different user groups feel safe, invited and inspired to use to travel more sustainably as well as a step-by-step process for how transformation can take place.

Expected long term effects

Conversion of more unsafe parking facilities into living mobility houses. Today´s problems with crime and vandalism make housing companies, property owners and municipalities hesitant to invest in new mobility homes. A rough assessment is that there may be around 4,000 parking facilities in Sweden - a great resource for conversion that can make sustainable alternatives available for a large number of residents and reduce the need for their own car.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented through four work packages: WP1: Projektledning WP2: Case studies - mapping of conditions in each facility and of the state of knowledge in general through previous research, studies and experiences. WP3: Development of solutions for case studies and general recommendations and design concepts. WP4: Final reporting and dissemination of results Schedule has been followed with some delay in order to book the necessary meetings with a reference group.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
