Important results from the project

By focusing on the sensory experiences and cultural anchoring of food, the project offers concrete methods to introduce sustainable ingredients in a way that consumers actually appreciate. The goals that were set from the beginning to create concrete tools to speed up the transformation of the food system have thus been met. In addition, the project contributed to raising awareness of the importance of the entire food experience (taste, texture, cultural context) in sustainability work.

Expected long term effects

Should the tool that combines haptics with scenario planning be used for meal planning, a long-term effect could be to make sustainable food attractive to new groups in a concrete, sensory and cultural way. Then the project is expected to create a food system that not only copes better with future crises, but also actively contributes to restoring and improving the environment and biodiversity.

Approach and implementation

The project´s process consisted of an initial block of research for business intelligence and the development of scenarios. Several scenario workshops were held here with invited stakeholders. A prototype was then developed, which was then tested in dialogues. The prototype was then further iterated in the project group based on the insights that emerged. One project party dropped out due to internal issues, its role could be balanced by the other parties´ network and ability to engage experts.
