Field trial and validation of carbon fiber robot

Purpose and goal

The project aimed to understand and test a real potential customers’ automation demands on Featherway Robotics demonstrator robot. The project goals have been accomplished and the next development step has been specified clearly. The outcome will enhance the competitive advantages of our robot.

Expected results and effects

The project outcome has clearly proven the potential of a compact and lightweight robot for industrial use. The unique qualities of the construction and innovation provides value in the environment around CNC machines and the type of work there conducted. The project team now has a clear plan for the next iteration and development roadmap for the MVP robot that can generate revenues for the company.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was conducted in three parts, gathering of requirements and functionality testing, conclusions and revision to current design and definition of a framework for work/task planning. The first work package became the most demanding and the other two rapidly became clear based on the first one.
