Purpose and goal

The purpose is to build a knowledge base about so-called regional flagship projects and how they can be established. These can contribute to increase the adaptability in society by introducing new solutions, technology and business models that give innovation ecosystems through collaboration the opportunity to exercise their ability to adapt for growth-creating purposes. The aim of the feasibility study is to define what a regional flagship project can be by set up a number of criteria. The result must constitute a knowledge base.

Expected effects and result

A developed knowledge base with criteria for what a regional flagship project is and how it can be rigged is expected to facilitate the work of implementing selection and priorities. Flagship projects are established with the aim of increasing the adaptability for growth-creating purposes. The introduction of new solutions, technology and business models gives innovation ecosystems the opportunity to, through collaboration, exercise their ability to adapt to growth-creating purposes.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is led and run by Linköping Science Park who will allocate the resources required for implementation. A close collaboration will take place with Region Östergötland. Interviews and research will be conducted regionally, nationally and internationally to define a regional flagship project and set criteria and KPIs. A national Advisory Board will be established. The criteria ownership, organization, working methods, budgeting, distribution models, schedules, reporting etc. will be defined.
