Important results from the project
The project resulted in the framework “A path to a regional flagship”, a concrete support for initiating and implementing systemic societal changes at the regional level. The framework has been tested extensively in Sweden, further developed together with users and supplemented with methodological support and a digital tool.
Expected long term effects
The framework is expected to strengthen regions’ capacity to lead complex transformation projects, foster cross-sector collaboration, and support the implementation of regional flagships aligned with national and European missions.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented through a design-driven process in collaboration with municipalities, regions, business and academia. Activities such as workshops, testing and analysis of previous initiatives led to a broadly based and usable framework. Study trips and interviews have also been part of the information gathering.
