Important results from the project
IVVES aimed to produce new methods, techniques and tools for V&V and QA of Evolving Systems. How do you test an AI/ML-system and know that it is doing what it is supposed to? Specifically for mission critical systems within industrial sectors: Automotive, Transportation, Banking Finance, Healthcare, Industrial Automation and Cybersecurity. IVVES produced new methods and tools to ensure quality. Also AI/ML-tools for V&V of traditional systems was developed that significantly improve efficiency.
Expected long term effects
IVVES have created the IVVES Learning Platform (https://learn.ivves.eu/). It includes solutions for automated V&V of ES. Quality AI Framework, AI quality analysis tools and more. These have already provided significant results. E.g. increase (around 60%) of V&V effectiveness compared to state of the art, increase in time efficiency in the V&V process by 10 fold using a generalized approach and shorter V&V cycles. Increase in effectiveness, in some cases up to 100 fold compared to classical testing methods. Potential increase in revenue by additional business models with several M€.
Approach and implementation
The IVVES project was coordinated by Philips Medical in Eindhoven. The Swedish consortium, Alstom (earlier Bombardier), ABB, RISE, Addiva och Ekkono collaborated with international partners from Netherlands, Finland, and Spain. Here RISE successfully led WP4 on Data Driven Engineering. The Swedish consortium had other leading roles as well: WP1 on Use Cases, Demonstrators and WP5 on Framework and Methodology. To promote the results of the project, the consortium has been active in events like ITEA PO Days, IVVES Poster Day and publishing research articles and producing videos.
