Important results from the project

This project has allowed us to build a collaboration between Sweden (Husqvarna AB and Jönköping University) and Israel (Lemniscate and University of Haifa) that combines expertise in AI with expertise in technical and interactive systems for animals and plants. The long-term goal was to create a prototype that supports user engagement to improve biodiversity in gardens. With this grant, we have written a joint application and a basis for a future prototype.

Expected long term effects

We aim to find funding to support our long-term goal of building a prototype to support user engagement to improve biodiversity in gardens and common green spaces. We have found new partners throughout our work with Uppsala University and the University of Pisa that have allowed us also to apply for EU funding. We would like to build a practical state-of-the-art prototype of its kind, that can be a testbed for future projects and products.

Approach and implementation

The discussions and workshops planned could not be carried out physically since we could not travel to Israel. Instead, we carried out a series of activities, online meetings and visits from Israel to Sweden that allowed us, to a certain extent, to fulfil our goals. However, we need to improve the grant proposal to secure further funding. The collaboration worked very well, and more partners were added to the team.
