Important results from the project
The project achieved its set objective to establish behavior-changing solutions and perform a business model analysis.
The results showed that behavior-changing interventions can have an effect on people´s behavior in wanting to use a car pool. At the same time, it showed that external factors are difficult to control for.
The business model analysis showed what a business model should look like for a successful car pool where the needs of multiple actors must be met.
Expected long term effects
The long-term effects of the project are that several actors who are interested in establishing a car pool have scientific evidence to do it correctly.
The results will also be an element in policy development and urban planning. This is because the results showed that aspects that have an impact on people´s motivation to use car pools are difficult for private companies to control. Such as access to parking or proximity to public transport.
Approach and implementation
The project conducted interviews with experts in the field to understand the business model and customer needs. Based on the results, a target behavior was identified that we wanted people to perform. To understand how this would work, several interviews were conducted with residents of public housing. The results of the work were used to identify and develop measures to influence people´s behavior. These measures were implemented in a 6-month pilot to analyze the function of the measures.
