Project duration June 2015 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

IPIF has been the main source of funding for Meloq AB and has enabled us to keep our business running. The main objective of IPIF has been to verify the market and product in order to identify and mitigate issues that may arise at market introduction. IPIF has allowed us to verify the product by iterating the prototype in close collaboration with end users. We have also verified the business by identifying and managing IP and QA risks and also developed and performed a first verification of a market introduction strategy.

Expected results and effects

We have accomplished the objectives set at the beginning of the project and the results have been important for Meloq. The lowered risks and the IPIF funding have allowed two of the founders to quit their day jobs to work full time with Meloq and two more to work half time with the company. We have also achieved a better understanding of the market, how the final product shall be designed and how to reach the market. We have seen a great interest for the product and that there are a number of feabile ways to reach the customer thus verifying the potential in this project.

Planned approach and implementation

IPIF has enabled a great leap forward for Meloq, important success factors have been the increased staffing, that the founders have been able to work very time and cost efficiently and that we have been able to afford constants for cases where the core team lacks experience. In the cases where consultans have been engaged, i.e. IP, market verification, design and UX the project have been well specified based on the IPIF objectives which have allowed these projects to be efficient and result in useful insights
