Yes, but problems arose because permits could not be obtained without eligibility requirements on weather minima, where cloud base was primarily a problem. Otherwise, results were achieved for all areas: Demonstration, Adaptations of ground infrastructure and Publicly beneficial applications for drone transport/Business models and modeling
Expected long term effects
Several new collaborations emerged through the project that will lead to the demo and commercialization of drone freight services.
Strategy for drone implementation starting in essential transportation such as defibrillators and for authorities was a conclusion from one of the project´s work packages, where public support is needed but where the benefit is great.
Design and lessons learned about the type of ground infrastructure required can be reused.
Approach and implementation
The activities are divided into 3 work packages:
AP1: Flight route demonstration
AP2: Adaptation of ground infrastructure/Droneport
AP3: Public benefit applications for drone transport and Business models and modeling
All work packages achieved their overall objective, but flights were limited as permission could not be given for flights in low cloud base, out of consideration for other airspace users.
