Reference number
Coordinator Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut - VTI Göteborg
Funding from Vinnova SEK 220 000
Project duration January 2010 - November 2014
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project aims to develop and implement a human centred approach in driving simulator testing with an apparent value for the vehicle design process.

Expected long term effects

Methods to observe drivers using camera vision, physiological measurements and system identification combined with traditional methods Knowledge about the way the driver is using visual, motion, and other information to control the vehicle More insight into the effect of proposed vehicle systems on driving behaviour Validated motion cueing and platform specifications

Approach and implementation

Methods for driver observation and physiological measurements: done Development of simulator technology and integration of experiment setup together with TUDelft: almost done, final tests remains. Experiments together with TUDelft will take place in 2015.
