Important results from the project
The purpose is to reduce the lead time for Smart Maintenance Assessment (SMASh) and increase the quality of data analysis. The aim is to create a prototype for how SMASh can be automated. The aim has been fulfilled by the development, implementation, and validation of a prototype for automated data analysis and visualization of SMASh-data, which identifies tailored improvement activities for a factory. The purpose has been fulfilled by substantially reducing the lead time for SMASh whilst at the same time ensuring consistent analysis quality.
Expected long term effects
The project has achieved all planned results. Thus, DigiSMASh will contribute towards important impacts through the development of strategies and roadmaps for Smart Maintenance in numerous firms and thereby increase their maintenance performance, sustainability, and competitiveness. The results include the development of integrated collection of SMASh-data; a total of 4 unique R-programs for automated data analysis; and fully integrated analysis flow in a R Shiny App. Three validation studies confirmed usability, reduced lead time and consistent analysis quality.
Approach and implementation
Three work packages (AP1-3) were conducted in collaboration with three suppliers. In AP1, integrated data collection of SMASh data was created in a web-based environment. In AP2, the prototype for automated data analysis and visualization was created, including the identification of tailored improvement activities. In AP3, the complete work flow was validated in three separate case studies. The studies confirmed high useability, reduced lead time, and consistent quality. The overall impression is a high value with clear and actionable advice for strategy development.
