Important results from the project
The project has aimed to develop, test, disseminate and commercialize digital business model innovation methods in Swedish and global industrial ecosystems. Accordingly, this project has increased capabilities and supported commercialization of digital business models in Swedish industrial ecosystems.
Expected long term effects
We have 1) developed new and improved existing digital business model innovation capabilities for suppliers, customers and digital actors, 2) developed business model innovation methodologies to create customized business models involving multiple ecosystem actors and 3) supported digital business model innovations commercialization that combine product, service and digital components from several ecosystem players to commercially attractive offers.
Approach and implementation
The consortium includes academics and 40 collaborating industrial partners representing customers, providers, service partners, and digital actors in mining, forestry, steel, pulp and paper, telecom and energy ecosystems. The project has focused on developing, refining and implementing DBMI methods, increasing the capabilities of participating companies and applying methods within prototype business models in each ecosystem as well as dissemination and packaging of results.
