Reference number
Coordinator Nordluft Automation AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 300 000
Project duration May 2018 - March 2019
Status Completed
Venture Innovative Startups

Purpose and goal

The overall goal of the project was to build prototypes of the spreading system´s critical subsystems. This with the purpose to eliminate technical risks and thus enable collaborations and finding resources for further commercialization. Goal and purpose has been fulfilled to a large extent. Difficulties in development of the control system have resulted in delays of the full system verification. Testing of all subsystems is planned for summer 2019.

Expected results and effects

The project was expected to lead to enabling the company to build and commercialize its first product. This was planned to happen one year after the end of the project. A well performed project was meant to eliminate a number of technical risks and therefore make the company more attractive as an investment object. Overall a successful project would give the company the necessary results, skills and experiences to continue the development and commercialization of automated UAV systems. After the project the expected effects have been shown to an extent of 85 % out of planned.

Planned approach and implementation

Because the company is at an early stage and have limited resources, we have strived for a resource efficient realization of this project. The thesis work project has been an important part of the process. Regarding purchasing, standard components have been selected whenever possible. This has resulted in impressive results within the company. Due to limited resources, the company has been partly dependent on persons with little to no compensation. This has resulted in a significant turnover of staff - young people that easily wilt. This is logical but was not foreseen by the company.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
