Important results from the project
Talent attraction and promoting innovation has driven the collaboration between Business Sweden and AstraZeneca BioVentureHub in arena of the project “Talent Attraction”. The project has linked attractive industrial scale-up companies with the Swedish pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and attracted talented companies to use BVH as a platform for further development of their activities. The project has also developed models for attracting and further discussing with talented companies for the use of BVH as a platform for further business developments.
Expected long term effects
The development of models for attracting talented companies provides increased opportunities for win-win effects in interactions between scaleup companies, innovation hubs and the pharmaceutical industry. The project´s results give the upscaling companies opportunities to reach out with business models and technology based on the project´s and BVH´s network. It also provides an opportunity for the development of these talented companies and a build of Sweden´s expertise in upscaling companies for pharmaceuticals, technology and health.
Approach and implementation
BVH, Business Sweden and AstraZeneca have developed focus areas for talent attraction in specific areas of strength. Networks of mentors and owners of each area of strength has been established. This enables the further development of talent attraction in both current and future areas. The mix of Innovation hub, international networks and industrial parties gave the project the ability to offer both a breadth and a specific competence in the discussions with upscaling companies. It provides a good basis for Sweden´s attraction of expertise in technology, pharmaceuticals and health.
