Purpose and goal
The proposed project aims to co-develop targets and indicators with the political actors and county government and regional development authority in Värmland, Sweden, to drive and monitor innovation for sustainable energy transition. The central question is which targets and indicators can drive and monitor social innovation for holistic and sustainable energy transition in Värmland? Developed targets and indicators will be possible to transfer among regions in Sweden.
Expected effects and result
The perhaps most important results of this project will be the new sustainability targets and indicators for driving and monitoring social innovation in the energy sector in Värmland. The targets and indicators developed in this project, supported by key sustainability actors, will bring a deeper understanding about holistic sustainable development addressing and equally prioritising the three dimensions - ecology, society and economy - of sustainability pillars.
Planned approach and implementation
The Delphi method will be used in three in-person workshops to co-develop the sustainability targets and indicators with politicians and government officials. The project will start in January 2025 and the workshops will be conducted during the second and third quarters of 2025. Finalisation of the sustainability targets and indicators as well as writing manuscripts and communicating the results directly to stakeholders will be performed during the final quarter of 2025.
