Important results from the project

The project aimed to develop a long-term collaboration between three research groups to work on these needs. The collaboration of these three teams created a ground-breaking project in the area. Therefore, the overarching aim of this seed grant was to develop a big grant application.

Expected long term effects

The project led to strong collaboration between the Sweden and Israel team and has conceptualized an EU proposal based on an AI-assisted production of value-added products. A consortium has been made to prepare a proposal for one of the calls of the Circular Based Europe JU sets funding priorities for 2023 under the Research and innovation actions. Besides the EU calls, possible bilateral calls were looked at during the project period. The project also led to an exchange of knowledge between KTH and BGU teams from the two countries. Moreover, the network of each team was open to the other.

Approach and implementation

During the project period, the partner had a number of meetings on potential schemes. The team prepared an action plan which included the waste streams, possible value-added products, and actors. Based on this, a concept for the proposal was developed.
