Important results from the project
To ensure quality of training of welders, an internationally recognized training system (IW) is used. Tests have been on paper and corrected manually, which is time-consuming and risks variation in the assessment. In order to increase time for teachers with students and even level of knowledge, IW has been introduced in an online platform, with teaching materials, follow-up and examination. Through digitalisation, conditions was created for increased quality and safety in test handling, follow-up of students and increased student interaction, for better education results
Expected long term effects
Using international guidelines with exam questions on an online platform ensures that: Constant revision of the question database can take place Everyone gets the same level of questions regardless of country Educational material matches level and exam Everyone gets the same assessment as the questions are corrected automatically The teacher gets more time for student interaction Diploma takes place directly in the platform
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in five work packages. AP1: Definition, structure, development of questions/answers AP2: Programming of the online portal which teachers uses in teaching, follow-up, and handling tests and for handling certificates AP3: Evaluation stage 1 where two schools were evaluated and reported to the project important metrics for adjusting the portal and systematics AP4: Evaluation step 2 where appr. 30 schools evaluated the revised portal for final adjustment AP5: The evaluation step 1 & 2 have been analyzed to ensure if the teacher interaction time increased
