Important results from the project
The main objective was to develop a model for a complementary way to stimulate growth of research-based innovations that would otherwise not have seen the light of day, to review the needs of our researchers in this regard, and how our university-based innovation offices and holding companies can develop their current offerings, including their idea bank assignments. The goal was also to develop relevant contract proposals and conduct a survey, to analyze and draw conclusions.
Expected long term effects
The holding companies and their universities through their innovation offices aim to develop their offerings and working models, to support researchers that are not commercialising their ideas in a way adapted to their needs and by that generate an increased commercialisation of new business ideas based on research findings. When such a complementary offering and resourses are in place, it is expected to contribute to an increased Swedish innovation power.
Approach and implementation
The work within the project was carried out through several sub-steps and in close and extensive collaboration between the three universities and their holding companies. In the attached final report we review the 5 steps that were carried out. The project developed as planned, but it took more time than planned, just to be able to reflect between the sub-steps and because it was also affected by external factors, such as the availability of researchers. The collaboration worked excellently!
