Design in Government

Purpose and goal

The aim is to develop and implement a capacity program in the public administration where participants strengthen their ability to handle complex societal challenges by working with real policy issues in their own organizational contexts.

Expected effects and result

A completed capacity program in the state administration based on design for policy, an approach where policy is understood as something that is developed and adjusted in practice, in interaction between actors in the system.

Planned approach and implementation

The project´s capacity program is implemented as an iterative work process in overlapping phases. Each phase includes preparations, joint workshops, analysis work in pilot environments and reflection. The method allows for in-depth study where understanding, analysis and action are developed in parallel. Participants work with a concrete policy issue in its context, which ensures that insights and tests are linked to real-world applications.
