Important results from the project

The project met its objective to submit a strong proposal to the Horizon Europe call with the title "Critical technologies for the future ocean energy farms". This included building a strong consortium with partners from academia and industry, designing a project that meets the needs of the sector, networking with actors along the entire value chain, and ultimately developing and writing a strong proposal, well-anchored in the call and with all parties.

Expected long term effects

The results contribute to developing the technical maturity of wave and tidal technologies and thereby realizing the commercialization of an emerging sector. Sweden has several world-leading technologies and companies in this industry, and the results thus contribute to increased export opportunities and labor markets for Sweden. The results also contribute to the EU taking leadership in new renewable energy technologies, and to achieving a sustainable, fossil-free energy system.

Approach and implementation

The project went largely according to plan, but some adjustments from the original plan have been made. This is to be expected as the project was developed with great respect to the needs of the sector and the parties. The project idea is largely the same as the original plan. Regular (online or physical) meetings have been held in Sweden and other locations in Europe. Through a step-by-step process, the project has developed to its final objective within a stated time frame.
