Important results from the project
We have not had the opportunity to have as much dialogue with the authorities as we planned for in the project, but the workshops and seminars that have been carried out have been very rewarding. We have gained insights into obstacles and opportunities, while at the same time having great respect for the fact that there is much left to explore. But we feel that the project has strengthened our hypothesis that it would be valuable to carry out a pilot project with DA for civil-military synergies.
Expected long term effects
Upon implementation of the proposed pilot project, and if it yields a positive outcome, the project will be able to lead to closer links between the civilian and military innovation systems, and acceleration of civil-military synergies. We see Demand Acceleration as a complement to more supply-oriented efforts. By combining demand and supply perspectives, we can create a more complete innovation chain that contributes to both system change and operational results.
Approach and implementation
We participated in the seminars and workshops that were arranged, as well as conducted individual interviews with people with insight into the conditions for innovation within the armed forces and FMV. The insights and lessons learned were then summarized, laying the foundation for the outline requested.
