Call Transport and mobility services - FFI - autumn 2025

Purpose and goal

Previous projects revealed a need for digital data exchange between vehicle rental intermediaries, authorities, and stakeholders. This pre-study will assess conditions for a shared data hub enabling secure, efficient exchange. Goals include mapping barriers, needs, and business models, evaluating standards and APIs, and developing a hub model with an implementation roadmap, and also preparing a test project.

Expected effects and result

The project contributes to FFI´s objective of developing efficient, accessible and resilient transport and mobility solutions. By addressing the industry´s current difficulties in managing and sharing data – particularly around user data, taxes and fees – and thus enabling the scale-up and spread of car-sharing services, the project contributes to a more resource-efficient transport system.

Planned approach and implementation

The eight-month pre-study includes four work packages: AP1 Market, needs, and potential analysis as the foundation; AP2 Scope, ecosystem, and business model definition; and AP3 Functionality, architecture, and development roadmap, running in parallel. AP4 Project management, communication, and preparation for test/demo projects spans the entire period. Led by RISE with industry actors, associations, and stakeholders involved
