Call Planning grant for international proposal 2025

Purpose and goal

The planning grant supports consortium-building, concept refinement, and proposal preparation for Horizon Europe call HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-18. It aims to initiate partnerships, define partner roles, shape the structure, and develop a strong technical approach. The project aligns with EU goals on digitalisation, resilience, and decarbonisation, builds a diverse consortium, defines pilot use cases, ensures regulatory compliance, and prepares a competitive, scalable proposal.

Expected effects and result

A partnership with at least 15 organisations from the EU and associated countries, including five DSOs and one TSO, has been initiated and will deliver two demonstrations in different climate regions. A 45-page technical description has been prepared detailing the advancement of technologies for next-generation distribution smart substations, enabling a more resilient, digitalised, and carbon-neutral European electricity system.

Planned approach and implementation

- Horizon Europe proposal writing and submission; - Initiate partnership with a wide range of international partners; - Define work packages (WPs), Gantt chart, tasks, milestones, and deliverables; - Align responsibilities with each partner’s expertise and focus area; - Design complete templates for each pilot; - Design budget and resource allocation; - Write the technical proposal; - Create diagrams and illustrations showcasing technologies beyond the state of the art.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
