Important results from the project
The coordination project´s aim is to coordinate the joint program activities within the Research School "Resource-smart processes" towards a cohesive research and education environment that will work to secure long-term competence supply and strengthened competitiveness in the area. In order to fulfill these objective a unique industry-close course package has been developed, forums for knowledge exchange and ollaboration have been created, new initiatives have been generated to deepen collaboration and broaden research questions (industry-initiated master theses).
Expected long term effects
The following courses have been developed: Thermodynamics & its application (2022); Transport phenomena (2023-2024). Two more are being prepared: "Circularity & resource efficiency in processing industry" and "Techno-economic analysis of innovation". In addition to these, being a connecting link, program conferences (annual fall conferences and spring workshops) have created community and new initiatives (industry initiated master thesis, expansion of the program...), which in the long run contributes to strengthened competence supply and competitiveness.
Approach and implementation
The coordination project´s focus has been communication within the program (through frequent project manager meetings and the website), course activities with emphasis on process engineering topics and industry as a key player, program-wide conferences and workshops with an emphasis on interaction and collaboration. The collaboration with Treesearch has been an integrated part of the research school´s activities, both in terms of information dissemination, coordination of courses and meetings and infrastructure use.
