Purpose and goal
The project aims to investigate the potential and feasibility of a mostly passive bandpass analog-to-digital converter originating from the “control-bounded conversion” concept. The overall goal is to increase the configurability and energy efficiency of the wireless receiver in a future 6G communication system.
Expected effects and result
The project includes both theoretical and practical cross-disciplinary work ranging from fundamental signal processing to the design and realization of integrated circuits. Expected results thus include mathematical models for parameterization, simulation models to verify performance, analog and digital design to ensure functionality in a modern semiconductor manufacturing process.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be implemented in three phases, the first phase will develop mathematical models and perform high-level simulations, the second phase will include analog and digital design as well as transistor-level simulation and verification. The third phase will complete the project by compiling and publishing results.
