Call Educational collaboration and work-integrated learning - model and method development 2022

Important results from the project

The project achieved its goal of developing a model for work-integrated lifelong learning within computer, electrical, and automation engineering programmes. The model is based on close collaboration between Mid Sweden University and Bron Innovation, courses for professionals, and two strengthened industry councils. Outcomes include two new Applied AI programmes, two competence projects, and a new forum for education and employers.

Expected long term effects

The project strengthens Mid Sweden University’s capacity to meet industry’s needs for digital competence. The results are expected to lead to more work-integrated programmes, deeper collaboration between academia and working life, and enhanced regional attractiveness. Expanded networks and cooperation with employers may encourage more people to stay in the region. New courses in Applied AI and related areas support long-term skills supply and sustainable development.

Approach and implementation

The project followed the schedule and followed the assigned project plan. At least seven collaborative activities were carried out and the model for work-integrated lifelong learning was tested in close collaboration with companies. The collaboration between Mid Sweden University and Bron Innovation worked well and created synergies and new project and long-term investments that strengthen the supply of skills in the region.
