Important results from the project

The project largely met its objectives and delivered a teaching structure, teacher training materials, strengthened collaboration with upper secondary schools, a gender equality mapping of the metallurgical industry, and models and plans for talent attraction and place attractiveness. Creating synergies was challenging due to uneven development pace, though packaging as a complete attractiveness and talent package added communication value.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to improve skills supply in the metallurgical industry through stronger collaboration between industry, academia, and upper secondary education. The educational structures and talent attraction models provide a basis for future development, and the project increased knowledge of place attractiveness for skills supply. The gender equality mapping supports continued development.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented as an umbrella project with five work packages focused on skills supply: education development in metallurgical production, upper secondary collaboration, gender equality mapping, place attractiveness, and talent attraction to northern Sweden. Many stakeholders were involved. Some delays in parts and faster progress in others made synergy coordination difficult.
