Important results from the project
The project purpose was to commercialise Validio´s software for data validation, in terms of marketing the product and intensifying customer dialogues, with the aim to implement the product at one or a few early customers. The sales process also involved adapting the product to better satisfy identified needs and improve fit to customers’ existing infrastructure. Marketing and customer dialogues have been fruitful, and we have been able to develop the product significantly based on feedback in these dialogues. The software has been used to validate 21 datasets from customers.
Expected long term effects
The commercialisation work was expected to result in 1) awareness of Validio´s software and value proposition to more potential customers, 2) production of materials that can be used in marketing and sales processes, 3) some adaptation/ development of the software based on feedback from customer dialogues to further improve product-market fit and 4) apply the software to validate data from customers. All of the four points have been fullfilled (including new website, new communcations material, a filled customer pipeline and the validation of 21 big datasets from customers).
Approach and implementation
Validio created a list of potential customers to contact during the project period to market and sell the product. To support these dialogues, a website was developed and marketing and sales materials were produced. Furthermore, product development work continued based on feedback from customer dialogues, to increase the product-market fit. Given the outcomes, we think that the plan was suitable. Despite many potential customers´ decision-making processes slowing down due to Covid, dialogues were maintained and the software has been used to validate 21 datasets from customers.
