Important results from the project

The purpose was to create a commercialization platform for innovative information technology. Goals included an analysis of novelty and freedom to operate, IP strategy, business strategy/model, market assessment, agreements and licensing/company structure. Collaboration has been established with SLU and actors in New Zealand. The foundation for a patent application, strategy, agreements and business plan were produced in collaboration with lawyers and advisors.

Expected long term effects

We have together with patent lawyers concluded that the innovation has novelty and is patentable. A basis for a patent application and IP strategy have been made. A business plan was created, including market analysis. Discussions around company setup were held with business lawyers and advisors. Draft agreements between the applicant and the inventor have been produced. The next steps are that the innovator will finish the patent application and that agreements for commercialization shall be finalized.

Approach and implementation

Regular meetings were held initially with IP lawyers who then worked with IP analysis, novelty assessment and strategy. Collaboration was established with SLU and New Zealand actors around farm applications. Business development was planned to be made together with KPMG, but the work was instead performed by the applicant and inventor. Advice was received from business lawyers, MINC, Region Skåne, Ideon Science Park, Almi etc. Agreement proposals were produced together with lawyers.
