Purpose and goal
The aim is to commercialize a single photon detector module at 1550 nm based on nonlinear optics and to position the technology for medical applications. The goal is to complete a marketable module, verify market acceptance by at least one customer and submit an EU proposal.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in a finished, integrated detector module with marketable performance and at least one verified customer order. Furthermore, an EU-proposal for medical application is expected to be submitted and new collaborations are expected to be established. The effects will be reduced technical and commercial risk, strengthened market position and a clear path towards scalable sales, increased turnover and further external funding.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented in four work packages: (1) proposal for medical applications, (2) packaging of electronics into an integrated detector module, (3) performance optimization of the module, and (4) market introduction through customer dialogues and demonstrations. The work is conducted iteratively with a close connection between technical development and market feedback. The approach enables efficient risk reduction and a fast path to commercialization.
