Important results from the project
The project´s objective has been to contribute to a systemic transformation of society for a more sustainable stormwater management with a focus on neighborhood land. It is about adapting our cities to ongoing and future climate changes where increased amounts of precipitation, but also to reduce the amount of pollution that is released into our lakes and waterways. The stormwater issue needs to be integrated as part of the urban planning process, which in turn requires changed working methods, new decision-making and new collaborations.
Expected long term effects
We have developed new working methods and routines in the planning process with aim to untie many of the blockages that exist today. We have also developed support for the procurement of neighborhood facilities as well as new decision support and dialogue tools that make visible the added value that sustainable stormwater management can contribute with. The project has also developed several new training courses to promote and spread knowledge about the sustainable stormwater management. Great emphasis has also been placed on knowledge exchange, both internally and externally.
Approach and implementation
A key activity within the project has been to ensure effective collaboration between work packages, case studies and project participants. Therefore, monthly meetings have taken place between the project manager and all AP leaders. The AP leaders have been responsible for carrying out activities, updating the project manager on status and possible obstacles, and arranging meetings within each AP. All project participants together with the stakeholder group have all been responsible for and contributed to the dissemination of results both within and outside the project.
