Purpose and goal
The purpose is to facilitate the use of circularly produced aggregate from wet sieving. The goal is to 1) Harmonize facilities´ quality assurance and standardization routines regarding aggregate products, 2) Describe standardized production costs and describe successful investments in wet sieving facilities, 3) Involve the client side in the work with requirements and jointly formulate how wet sieved material is demanded, 4) Increase knowledge about the benefits of increased recycling of soil and rock masses, with a focus on wet sieving and potential regarding requirements.
Expected effects and result
In the short term, the actors involved in the project will be able to secure disposal of material from wet sieving. In the longer term, 2-5 years after the project completion, the effect is estimated to be a greater number of wet sieving facilities. Expected result is that an increased volume of aggregate material from wet sieving is replacing natural gravel and sand from quarries. An important part of is to, in a 25-year term, increase industry experience in terms of requirements. In the 5-year term, the industry can use recycled aggregate based on codes and headings according to AMA.
Planned approach and implementation
The project´s work package handles different parts of the value chain, called the Factory, the Store and the Customer. Deliverables are a template for how incoming quality affects outgoing quality, with a focus on both complementary necessary measures as well as cost and price picture, as well as an anchored proposal for policy for municipal purchasing and procurement functions. A fourth work package is responsible for communication and project management. The project is carried out through documentation and development work at each facility, but also through dialogues.
