Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project objective was to "Build a proof-of-concept microphone with greater sensitivity and dynamic range than the human ear, and develop a plan for commercial exploitation." We have developed a plan for commercial exploitation and built all individual parts of the microphone except part, an optical reflective coating. That process step failed. We will try again with the problem fixed in July, and expect to finish manufacturing the microphone in September, a four month delay.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We have identified two likely good niches to target for an initial MVP: Classical music recording and acoustic detection of small drones for security and defense purposes. In that work, we have met and started conversations with partners that we can work with when we have a prototype. We expect to be able to meet potential customers and users this fall and winter to see what effects the project can have in society.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We have broadly followed the four work packages in the original plan. In conclusion, we think the project went well, and we have made great technical progress, including the fabrication of microphone diaphragms, acoustic chambers, optical components for fiber coupling, and in-depth theoretical and numerical analysis. technical problems, therefore we have chosen to work with an optical microchip at a later stage. Even without that, the project is about three months behind schedule (plus a month of summer vacation).
